Rhoda V. JACKSON

Obituary (from Town & Country News of 28 Dec. 1977):  The funeral for Mrs. Rhoda Matthews, 74, was held Friday at Christ Episcopal Church, Clayton, with Rev. Richmond N. Hutchins, rector, officiating.  Spring burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.
Cummings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Matthews, Cantwell Drive, Clayton, widow of Perl H. Matthews, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1977, at Mercy Hospital.

    She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Carol) Brown, Clayton; three sons, Eugene and Stanley, Cantwell Drive, and Richard L., Grindstone Island; a sister, Mrs. Milton (Clara) Carnegie, Grindstone Island; several grandchildren, nieces
and nephews.  Two sons died before her, James Perl, in 1965, and Gary in 1973.

    Born March 21, 1903, near Kingston, Ont., one of 12 children of Henry and Clara Sharp Jackson, she married Perl H. Matthews, Dec. 1, 1929, at Portsmouth, Ont.

   Mr. Matthews, a 27-year employee of Frink Sno-Plows, died Jan. 16, 1957 at the age of 58.
