Anna "Vahdah" Cleveland DODGE

"devotee of the cult headed by Mme. Cochran"


Mrs. McCullough adopted the name "Vahdah." She left $50,000 in trust to Mme. Cochran, who lives at 514 West 114th Street. Mme. Cochran was arrested by a woman detective on May 2, 1918, on a charge of fortune telling, durinf a campaign on selft-styled spiritualists by the District Attorney's office. She was sentenced to three months imprisonment and fined $250 by Magistrate Cobb, after her appearance in court was attend by many fashionably dressed women. In view of her age,
which then was 60, the workhouse sentence later was suspended.
