Jacob passed sixty years of his life upon a three hundred acre farm in Stone Mills, which he purchased in 1834, and upon which he died at the phenomenal age of one hundred and five years, retaining his faculties almost to the very last.

On coming to the United States, John settled in Clayton, where he followed his trade until 1847, when he went to Wisconsin and became a farmer.
