Larry D. BAMFORD

Obituary from newspaper of 7 Oct. 1999:  BROWNVILLE--Larry D. Bamford, 62, of 4004 Hickory Meadow Road, Greensboro, N.C., formerly of Brownville, died Sept. 20 at Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

    Mr. Bamford retired from Xerox Corp., Rochester, where he had held the positions of designer, senior designer, and engineering specialist.  He designed various copiers and business machines for the electronics division of the company.

    Born Oct. 9, 1936, in Brownville, son of Clyde and Marjorie Sherman Bamford, he was a 1953 graduate of General Brown High School and earned an associate's degree from Canton Agricultural and Technical Institute.

    He married Sally Denny of Sackets Harbor on June 6,1955, in Sackets Harbor.  The marriage ended in divorce in November 1973.  He then married Armeda L. Poray of Rochester.

    Mr. Bamford was a member of Mount Zion Presbyterian Church, Sandy Springs, S.C.

    Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Cheryl) Conte, Fairport, Cynthia Bamford, Macedon, and Mrs. Raymond (Janice) Sanders, Elmira; two sons and their wives, Larry and Chrisy, Walworth, and Kevin and Michelle,
Webster; two stepdaughters, Mrs. James (Diana Poray) Pulliam, Ukiah, Calif., and Nancy Poray, Sodus; a stepson and his wife, Linwood A. and Maryann Poray, Rochester; three sisters, June Morris, Ash Grove, Mo.; Eleanor Bamford, Orlando, Fla.,
and Audrey O'Hara, Syracuse; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    A private service is at 2 p.m. today in Baptist Rural Cemetery, Sodus Center.  There are no calling hours.  Arrangements are with Forbis & Dick Funeral Home, Greenboro.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1114 Magnolia
