Mary SNELL

Obituary from newspaper of 3 Jan. 1952: LaFARGEVILLE--Mrs. Mary Snell Schnauber, 93, Maple street, widow of Lewis A. Schnauber and a native of the town of Clayton, died at the Edward John Noble hospital at Alexandria Bay Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.
She had been in poor health since she broke her hip in October, 1950.

    Funeral services will be held at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edwin Kirby, LaFargeville, Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. Roberts Mallabar, pastor of the LaFargeville Methodist church officiating.  Burial will be in Depauville
cemetery.

    Surviving Mrs. Schnauber is one granddaughter, Mrs. Harold J. Dietrich of Massena, and Mrs. Kirby.

    She was born in the town of Clayton Nov. 29, 1863, only child of Albert and Elizabeth Wright Snell.  Her husband died September, 1927.  They had one son, Earl, who died at the age of 48 in March, 1940.

    Mrs. Schnauber was a member of the O.E.S., a past noble grand of the Rebekahs and a member of the LaFargeville grange.

    Confined to the House of the Good Samaritan in Watertown after breaking her hip, she was transferred to a nursing home.  She entered the hospital Monday.
