Obituary from newspaper of 5 Sept. 1945:  LaFARGEVILLE--The death of Mrs. Charles (Frances) Lingenfelter, over 80, native of the town of Clayton, occurred at the home of her daughter, Miss Hazel B. Lingenfelter, at Forrest Hills, L. I., on
Monday.

    Funeral services were held at Fairchild's chapel, Forrest Hills, L. I., at 11 a.m. today.  Services will be held at Cummings chapel, Clayton, Thursday, at 2 pm.

    Mrs. Lingenfelter was the former Miss Frances Halliday.  She is survived by her daughter, Hazel, and many nephews and nieces.  Her son, Dr. Howard Lingenfelter, a physician who resided in the west, died a few years ago.

Obituary from newspaper of 21 Sept. 1945:  CLAYTON--Funeral services were held for Mrs. Thankful Halliday Lingenfelter, 87, at Forest Hills, N.Y., Wednesday morning, Sept. 5.  Chapel services were held Sept. 6 from the Butts funeral home,
Clayton.  Rev. Thomas J. Williams, pastor of Clayton Methodist church, officiated.  Burial was made in Clayton cemetery.

    Mrs. Lingenfelter, daughter of the late Sherman A. and Valletia Williams Halliday, was born on a farm between Depauville and Clayton on Aug. 23, 1858.  With the exception of the last few years spent in New York city, her life was spent in
this locality.

    She was the widow of Charles J. Lingenfelter, who died in 1916 at Clayton and a sister of Joel Halliday, who died three or four years ago.

    Surviving are one daughter, Hazel B. Lingenfelter, Forest Hills, N.Y.; two sons, Sherman A., Woodbridge, N.J., and Don C. Lingenfelter, Elizabeth, N.J.; four grandchildren, Robert Lingenfelter, Woodbridge, N.J.; Hazel M. Lingenfelter,
Richland, Wash.

    A step-son, Dr. Howard A. Lingenfelter, died in 1938.
