Donald V. BALCOM

Obituary:  PULASKI---Donald V. Balcom, 75, of 4340 Rohy Road, town of Onondaga, a Pulaski native, died Thursday at his home.

    The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at his home in the town of Onondaga.

    There are no calling hours.  Donations may be made to the Howlett Hill Fire Department or the Onondaga Senior Center.  Arrangements are with the Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Syracuse.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Collins; a son, David, Cayuga; a brother, Lyle "Speedy," Pulaski; a sister, Shirley Hort, Pulaski; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

    Born Feb. 14, 1920, in Pulaski, a son of Charles A. and Leona Lighthall Balcom, he had lived in the town of Onondaga since the mid-1940s.

    Mr. Balcom retired from Carrier Corp., Syracuse, as a pattern maker after 36 years of service in 1982.

    He was a member of the Sheet metal Workers Union.
