Pratt BALCOM

Obituary:  Pratt N. Balcom, 67, retired farmer on the North Road, near Pulaski, died in St. Mary's Hospital, Syracuse, December 6, 1961.  He had been a patient seven days and suffered a heart condition for a year.

    The funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, Pulaski, with Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of Park Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial was in South Richland Cemetery.

    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Adelmann Balcom; two sons, Pratt A., at home; Stephen R., Fort Benning, Ga.; five daughters, Mrs. Myron (Margaret) Moore, Riviera Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Willard (Edith) Frary, Pulaski; Mrs. Robert
(Beverley) Genter, Black River; Mrs. John (Katherine) Parkinson, Union Springs; Mrs. David (Alice) Ward, Vestal; five brothers, Orrin Balcom, Redfield; Vann, Robert, Charles, Rolond, all of Pulaski; one sister, Mrs. Bradley (Ruth) Taylor,
Mexico, and eight grandchildren.

   He was born in Redfield, Feb. 19, 1894, a son of Evan and Ella Fox Balcom.  He attended schols there and married Miss Margaret Adelmann in a Lutheran church in New York city on Nov. 23, 1919.

    The couple moved to the farm on the North Road directly after marriage and had lived there since.  He was a member of Park Methodist Church.
