Donald J. FELDER

Obituary (from newspaper of 6 Oct. 1998):  REDWOOD---Donald J. Felder, 79, of 46122 Barnes Settlement Road, died Saturday in Edward John Noble Hospital-Samaritan, Alexandria Bay.

    Mr. Felder was a retired dairy farmer.

    Born May 31, 1919, in the town of Alexandria, a son of Joseph and Margaret DeYoung Felder, he graduated from Redwood High School in 1938.  He enlisted in the Navy in October 1938 and was discharged in July 1946.  He was one of four
brothers who served in the armed forces during World War II.

    He married Delores Rossey on Jan. 15, 1943, in Miami, Fla.  She died Dec. 5, 1989.

    Mr. Felder returned to Redwood after his discharge from the Navy to dairy farm.  Following his retirement, he became an avid cribbage player.

    He is survived by a companion, Evelyn Skinner; three sons, Timothy, Paul, and Charles, all of Redwood; two brothers, Leonard, Alexandria Bay, and Paul, California; a sister, Mrs. Peter (Marie) Nagorne, Cape Vincent; six grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    An infant daughter, Judy, died in 1944 in Florida.  Two brothers, Lawrence and Richard, also died before him.

    A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Klatt, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Barnes Settlement Cemetery, town of Alexandria.  The body was
cremated at Frederick Bros. Crematory, Theresa.  Arrangements are with Frederick Brothers Funeral Home.
