Robert Hollis CANELL

Obituary (from newspaper of Thursday, 6 Feb. 1986):  Robert Hollis Canell, 78, of 16 Skyline Apts., formerly of Evans Mills, died this morning at home after a lengthy illness.

    The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, Evans Mills, with Rev. Collin Kerr-Carpenter, Evans Mills Methodist minister, officiating.  Spring burial will be in Sanford Corners, Calcium.

    Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Surviving are his wife, Gladys; a son, Ronald, Gouverneur, and four stepdaughters, Mrs. M. Elaine Kelly, Lima, Mrs. Helen Hand, Utica, Mrs. Leonard (Beatrice) DeGeronimo, Tipp City, Ohio, and Mrs. Charles (Gail) Feathers, San Angelo,
Texas.

    Born Sept. 3, 1907, in Evans Mills, son of Ross and Korleen Cobb Canell, he was graduated from Evans Mills High School and Diebert's Business School, Philadelphia.

    He married Gladys Fraley on Aug. 29, 1951.  A marriage to Jean McCabe in April 1934 ended in divorce.

    He was formerly employed as a truck driver for Borden's and had worked for the Jefferson County Highway Department.
