Robert Alden "Pete" HYDE

Obituary (from newspaper of 9 Feb. 1994):  CLAYTON---Robert A. "Pete" Hyde, 74, Route 180, town of Clayton, died at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown.

    A prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Cummings Funeral Home with the Rev. James E. Yandow, pastor of the Agape Outreach Ministry and Mr. Hyde's son-in-law, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

    Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made to the LaFargeville Volunteer Ambulance Fund in care of Mickey Wills, R.D.1, Route 180, LaFargeville, N.Y. 13656.

    Surviving are his wife, Isabelle "Liz"; three sons, John A., Clayton, and Darryl R. and David E., both of LaFargeville; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Esther) Mitchell, Amherst, Ontario, Mrs. Robert (Gail) Proven, Theresa, and Mrs. James
(Robbin) Yandow and Mrs. Davin (Bobbi-Jo) Ross, both of LaFargeville; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildre; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    A son, Frankie C., died in December 1975.  A brother, Charles W. "Stub", died July 8, 1985.

    Born March 3, 1919, in the town of Clayton, son of William C. and Zuba McAvoy Hyde, he was educated in rural schools and at St. Mary's in Clayton.

    He married Isabelle "Liz" Parker July 18, 1950, in Watertown.  Mr. Hyde was a farmer and mechanic in Clayton Center on the Long Acres Stock Farm from 1942 to 1977.

    He worked for Frink Sno-Plow, now Frink America, Inc., as a security guard and was employed at the time of his death by the town of Orleans at the transfer site and skating rink.

Evelyn Marie O'RILEY

Obituary :  Mrs. Evelyn Marie O'Riley Hyde, 23, wife of Robert A. Hyde of Clayton Center and mother of four small children, died at 10:25 this morning in the Mercy Hospital, nine days after giving birth to her fourth child, a daughter.

    Death was caused by an embolism with which she was stricken late Wednesday afternoon.  The young woman, whose condition was satisfactory Wednesday, was expected to be discharged from the hospital this morning.

    Late Wednesday, however, she was suddenly stricken with the embolism and she failed to rally from it.

    The four children, ranging in age from nine days to four years, are: Esther Marie, 4; John A., 2 1/2; Darrell Roy, 14 months, and Gail Ann, nine days.

    Mrs. Hyde entered the hospital late in the evening of June 18 and early next morning she gave birth to Gail Ann.  Her condition progressed so well that she was out of bed Wednesday.

    Mrs. Hyde was born July 23, 1921, in the town of Orleans, near LaFargeville, a daughter of Roy and Leanna Cox O'Riley, now of Clayton Center.  She was a graduate of the LaFargeville High School, class of 1938.

    She was married to Robert Alden Hyde of Clayton, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hyde of Clayton Center, Nov. 1, 1939, at the rectory of St. John's Church of LaFargeville by Rev. Arthur J. M. Viau, pastor of the church.  Since their marriage
they resided at Clayton Center.

    Surviving her, besides her husband, her parents and four children, is a sister, Mrs. Herbert (Roselyn) Coon, LaFargeville.

    Funeral services will be held from the home of Charles Hyde, Mrs. Hyde's brother-in-law, at Clayton Center at 9:30 Monday morning and in St. Mary's Church, Clayton, at 10.  Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clayton.
