Nellie M. DODGE

Obituary (from Watertown Daily Times of 1 Dec. 1936):  CLAYTON---Mrs. Nellie Dodge Ormsby, 54, wife of Perl Ormsby, died suddenly this morning at 8 at the home of her son, Roy Ormsby, 930 West Main Street, Watertown, where she had been visiting
for the past two days.  She had been in ill health for the past four months.

    She was born in the town of Clayton, April 25, 1882, a daughter of the late Perry and Flora Edgar Dodge.  When she was a child she moved to Watertown with her parents.  On Sept. 14, 1898, she was married to  Perl Ormsby at her home.  The
ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. Hammond.  Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Clayton where they since had resided.

    Mrs. Ormsby was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Depauville, the Line Road Home Bureau, the LIberty Pole Parent-Teacher Association, and the Depauville Grange.

    She is survived by her husband; four sons, Roy of Watertown, Jay and Perry of Dexter, and Ross of Clayton; one daughter, Flora, Clayton; one sister, Mrs. John Dwyer, Clayton; two grandchildren, two brothers, Roy Dodge, Pierpont Manor, and
John Dodge, Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 from her home in this village and at 2 from the Methodist Episcopal Church in Depauville.  Rev. Royal Fishbeck, pastor of the Clayton Methodist Episcopal Church, will officiate.  He will
be assisted by Rev. Mr. Walker, pastor of the Depauville Methodist Episcopal Church.  Burial will be made in the Depauville Cemetery.


Maude Adelia DODGE

Obituary (from newspaper of 12 Jan. 1968):  Mrs. Maud Dodge Babcock, 91, formerly of 423 Broadway Ave. East, widow of Edwin T. Babcock, died at 3 a.m. Monday--New Year's Day--at the Leehaven Nursing Home, 425 Washington St., where she had been
a patient since July 21, 1965.  She had been ill for years.  Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries.

    The funeral will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Cleveland Funeral Home.  Rev. Roswell G. Williams, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in the Depauville Cemetery.

    Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon from 2 to 4 and tonight from 7 to 9.

    A service will be hld at the funeral home tonight at 7:30 under the auspices of the Depauville Chapter, 125, Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a life-member.  She had been a member of the chapter since 1906.

    Surviving Mrs. Babcock are three daughters, Mrs. Roland C. (Anita) Durand, 420 Broadway Ave. East, Mrs. Earl A. (Frances) Stratton, South Fallsburg, and Mrs. Lewis M. (Angela) Carr, Clayton, R.D.; eight grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.

    Her brother, Ward A. Dodge of Sackets Harbor, died March 24, 1958 at Gilmore's Point at the age of 74.

    Mrs. Babcock was bron Sept. 15, 1876, near Depauville, a daughter of Amasa E. and Gelia Stetson Dodge.  She was graduated from the Clayton Union School in 1895.

    Before her marriage, she was a teacher at the Morris Tract and the Three Mile Creek schools.

    She was married to Edwin T. Babcock of Depauville on Sept. 27, 1899 in Watertown.  Mr. and Mrs. Babcock lived first on the F. D. Lowe farm near Depauville and then moved to Point Salubrious.  Later, they purchased the farm of Mr. Babcock's
father, Charles Babcock, near Depauville, and they lived there until about 1924.

    Mr. and Mrs. Babcock then retired from farming and moved to Watertown.  Mr. Babcock died in the House of the Good Samaritan at the age of 84 on Dec. 28, 1958.

    Mrs. Babcock was for years a member of the Asbury Methodist Church.  She was also a former member of the Depauville Grange.


Kern C. BOULTON

SACKETS  HARBOR - Kern C. Boulton. 80, of Boulton's Beach Road, died this morning at 2:35 in Mercy Hospital,   Watertown,   where he had been a patient one day with pneumonia. The    funeral   will    be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the I Johnson Funeral Home. Dex­ter. Rev. Arvid Whitmore pastor of the United Church of   Sackets Harbor, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor.
Friends may call at the fu­neral home Tuesday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Surviving   are   his  widow,  Mrs. Corinne Brown Boulton; two daughters,  Mrs. Gilbert j (Louise)   Maysuch,   Webster, Mrs, Clarence (Christine) Eckoff, Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.; three sons, Merle, Sackets Harbor, Lawrence, Sodus, Frank, Little Rock, Ark.; 3 sis­ter, Mrs. Sidney (Ruth) Peterman, Tampa, Fla., and 18 grandchildren.
He was born April 5, 1911 at Sackets Harbor, son of Orin and Winnie Dodge Boulton. He was educated in and spent all his life in Sackets Harbor.
On Nov. 13. 1833 he marriedCorrine Brown of Limerick in Watertown. The couple engaged in farming for a few years and for the last 19 years he had been in charge  of maintenance at Westcott  Beach State Park. . He was a member of the Smithville Grange.

Corinne M. BROWN

Obituary (from newspaper of 19 July 1986):  SACKETS HARBOR---Corinne M. Boulton, 74, Gilmour Point Road, died early Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Christine) Eckhoff.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. James L. Cortelyou, pastor of the Sackets Harbor United Methodist Church, and Rev. Benoit C. Dostie, pastor at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church,
Watertown, officiating.  Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

    Calling hours are 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Northern New York.

    In addition to her daughter, Christine, she is survived by three sons, Merle, Sackets Harbor, Larry, Sodus Point, and Frank, Maumelle, Ark.; Mrs. Gil (Louise) Maysuch, Webster, and 21 grandchildren.

    Born at Reynolds Corners near Depauville on June 1, 1912, daughter of George and Sedate Kilburn Brown, she was graduated from Dexter High School in 1930.  She married Kern C. Boulton on Nov. 13, 1933.

     The couple operated a farm at Boulton's Beach that had been owned by Mr. Boulton's family for 150 years.  Mr. Boulton, a former maintenance supervisor at Westcott Beach State Park, died Jan. 14, 1972.  Mrs. Boulton was a member of the
United Presbyterian Church of Sackets Harbor.
