Gerald E. DANO Jr.

Obituary (from newspaper of 13 Oct. 1998):  CLAYTON--Gerald E. Dano Jr., 70, Hudson River Road, Waterford, a native of Clayton, died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy.

    Mr. Dano was employed by General Electric Co. for 35 years in the Schenectady and Waterford plants.  He retired in 1990 from the Silicone Division in Waterford and was a member of its Quarter-Century Club.  He was also a member of
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 359.

    Born Feb. 29, 1928, in Clayton, son of Gerald E. Sr. and Esther Altieri Dano, he was a 1947 graduate of Clayton High School.  An Army veteran, he served in Korea following World War II.

    He married Ann Marie Pagliarli of Watertown on March 28, 1948, in St. Anthony's Church with the Rev. C. Albert Richardson, assistant pastor, officiating.  The couple lived in Schenectady for 25 years, moving to Waterford in 1972.

    Mr. Dano was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5800, Waterford, and American Legion Post 821 in Clayton.  He was a former member of the Mechanicville and Schenectady Elks Lodges and a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption
Church, Waterford.

    Surviving besides his wife and his mother, now of Schenectady, are a daughter, Marcia A. Ragucci, Schenectady; two sons, Christopher A. Dano, Waterford, and Richard P. Pagliarli, Newbury Park, Calif.; a sister, Joyce Van Berg, Springfield,
Pa., and five grandchildren.

    The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church.  Burial will be in Saratoge National Cemetery.

    Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, Waterford.

    Donations may be made to the St. Vincent of Paul Society at St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
