Christopher P. Yates, probable author of the Tryon County Committee of Safety Resolution, chairman of the Tryon County Committee of Safety, commanded a company in the Second Regiment, New York Troops, commissioned Major in 1775, later
commissioned Colonel. He served in the N,Y, legislature and died in Canajoharie, New York where he was born and lived all his life.
